CRUNCH! My limp, aching body was thrown out of the dark, waste filled tunnel and into the street. In front of me, the man, a shadowy outline, came out into the light. I gasped in horror. The man face was grotesquely distorted. A large, bloody gash was drawn across the man’s face, beginning at the fleshy remains of his ear and continuing across his face to his mouth. His jaw had been completely torn off, his entire cheek was nothing but tattered skin. Dried blood caked his upper lip. He limped slowly towards me. I crawled back, panting hard. My hand felt a large stick. Without thinking, I grabbed it and swung with all my might. The man’s head snapped around… completely around! It snapped back, and came back facing me. He didn’t move.
